B. Types of Intellectual Disability

There are different degrees of Intellectual disability:

​​- Mild ID: Individuals with mild Intellectual disability have an IQ of about 50-70. They can learn skills and live independently with the least amount of support from others.

- Moderate ID: Individuals with moderate Intellectual disability have an IQ of about 36-49. They will be able to learn to carry out self-care tasks independently but may need help in daily life.

- Severe ID: Individuals with severe Intellectual disability have an IQ of about 20-35. They need regular supervision and may require help with everyday activities.

- Profound ID: Individuals with profound Intellectual disabilities have an IQ of less than 20. They require continuous supervision and help with the most basic needs.
